What is the cost of a website?
There are four costs normally associated with the creation and maintenance of a website.

• Design: a one-time fee for the design and initial setup of the website.

• Hosting: a recurring fee for the use of our network to publish your website on the Internet.

• Maintenance: periodic updates and changes to your web pages.

• Other costs : domain name registration, additional file space, bank merchant accounts, etc.

A simple website costs an average of $500 to build and $10 per month to host. A large complex website costs an average of $2,000 to build and $10 to $50 per month to host. Maintenance fees average from $30 to $50 per man-hour. Contracts and packages are usually offered at discounted rates.

The most expensive websites in the world
Websites like www.amazon.com are estimated at more than $100 million. Italy's government tourism portal (www.italia.it) cost 45 million euros ($60 million dollars). Should You Send "Removes" back to Spammers?
No! By sending back a 'remove me' opt-out request you are confirming to the spammer that your address is live, that your ISP doesn't use spam filters, that you actually open and read spams, and that you follow the spammer's instructions such as "click this to be removed". Reduce the size of photos for online use
Wait and Wait and Wait... Photos from digital cameras are always too big for use on the Internet. Web ahoy suggests resizing them to 100 kilobytes or less. Publish your documents in PDF format
Portable Document Format (PDF) format guarantees that the image seen by the viewer retains all of your content, format, fonts and graphics. PDF files are "read-only" and cannot be altered. Speed-up your Computer

How fast is your website?

Keep your computer clean.
Most hard drives are full of junk files; temporary and unnecessary files that accumulate over time. These files waste space and can slow down your computer. To delete these files, download freeware CCleaner (Crap Cleaner).

Submit your website ONLY to the top search engines.
Do not submit it to "hundreds" of engines since many of them will use your email for spamming purposes. Search engine market share of Google, Yahoo, MSN, Ask combined is 97%+. Submit your website for free at Google, Yahoo, MSN and Ask.

Keep your email address off the spam blacklists.
Do not use your email address to send "email blasts." It may end up in the spam blacklists. Your account may be suspended by your ISP and it may take days before it is restored. Use commercial newsletter and mass emailing services for this purpose. Try our Express Email Marketing service.

Matching exact colors on your screen

Title and Description
Make sure that at least your home page has a title and description. All major search engines will use them as the first and second line of text in their listings. They are a critical factor in how a search engine decides to list and rank your website. Click here for more information.

Stop Spinning - Get to the Point
Avoid sound, music, beeps, pops and anything that spins twice! These are cool for children (and bored web designers), but serious business people will probably skip intro, hit the stop, turn off the sound or go away annoyed. In most cases, they are a waste of time, slow down the website, do not play well in different browsers and more important, do not impart information.

Web Scam: Vishing
Vishing operates like phishing. You get an email claiming that your account was suspended, deactivated, or terminated. You are warned never to use unsecured email or web links for this purpose.
